On June 4, a group of students organized a sit-in in the Townsend Harris courtyard that took place during band 6. According to Instagram posts made by the organizers of the event, students gathered to listen to speeches raising awareness about sexual assault. An Instagram post published before the sit-in said, “the goal is to educate people on the effects of sexual assault, and try to bring people together as a community.” The post also said that “the sit-in is not targeting anyone,” and instructed participants to not mention anyone by name.
