Throughout game three, the Hawks had several good attempts at the goal, especially from sophomore Ivanka Juran and captain Olivia McFadden, but were never able to finish. The only goal made in the game was scored by the High School of Arts and Business, giving them the win.
During the second half, sophomore Georgianna Ramos saw a hawk, our school’s mascot, flying above the field, and pointed it out as a sign of good luck.
Despite the fact that luck had not been on their side for the last two games, Coach Vaselios Sioukas remains hopeful about his team’s ability to make the playoffs and get more wins under their belt. After the game, Coach Sioukas felt very good about his team’s effort saying, “We just need to finish games. There are five spots for the playoffs, and I think we can make it; we just have to beat our rivals.
Optimistic about her team’s chances, Senior Maya Grodzka said, “The team got a lot stronger this year, so I have full confidence in them.”
