On January 4, the boys track team competed in the Hispanic Games at the Armory Track marking it as their 6th meet of the season. Freshman Muhamed Bicic held his own competing in the 1 mile freshman and sophomore run landing in 5th place with a time of 4:52. Sophomore Matthew Sullivan placed 32nd with a time of 5:28. The Townsend relay team finished in 6th place in the freshman and sophomore 4×200 meter-relay out of 13 teams. The team consisted of sophomores Abdoulaye Diallo, Dysron Marshall, Benjamin Chang, and Evan Noblesala. Dyrson said, “I felt that it was a very short event to display what you’ve been practicing for and I also think the event was something that made you pretty nervous because of how short it is.” The boys next meet will be the Millrose Trials held at the Armory on Wednesday January 15. As they inch closer to City Championships the boys are determined to work their hardest and show their best i hopes of placing.
