The boys basketball team suffered a tough loss on January 13 against Robert F. Kennedy High School, losing by 16 points with a final score of 56-40. The team had a difficult first quarter, trailing by 16 at the end of the quarter. This was due to Harris’ many turnovers, allowing RFK to gain more scoring opportunities. RFK was also able to defend Townsend Harris’ leading scorers. RFK’s players did not allow junior Jozef Nikaj to score any points, as opposed to normally, when he averages 16 points a game. Senior captain Edward Lu was limited to only five points. The boys are looking forward to the next game, playing the second game of a doubleheader on January 14 against Flushing International High School, a school notoriously known for being the worst in their division for at least the last three years.
