As the end of October approaches, new seasonal restaurants have begun Halloween themed preparations in anticipation for the holiday. From holiday decoration to special seasonal deals, here are some of the top locales that will make your Halloween even more exciting and delicious.

Halloween-Themed Dining

Jekyll & Hyde Club: Restaurant and Bar – With a haunted house, live entertainment, and special effects at every corner, this restaurant is completely decked out for Halloween. Jekyll & Hyde Club is located in the neighborhood of West Village in Manhattan and is about twelve miles away from Townsend Harris High School.

Beetlehouse – Located in the East Village in Manhattan, Beetlehouse is a Halloween-themed restaurant with creatively named dishes such as Boogie’s Braised Bacon, Frites & Frights, Cheshire Mac & Cheese, and Mystery Blood Bags. This restaurant, drawing inspiration from the works of many legendary horror-focused artists such as Tim Burton and Alfred Hitchcock, is full of Halloween decorations, creating a spooky atmosphere.

Main Sweet – Just a short bus ride from THHS, Main Sweet is a candy shop that boasts beautiful candy baskets, a variety of sweets, and plentiful goody bags. Make sure to check out this spot if you need fresh, well-decorated “sweets.”

Seasonal Dining

Max & Mina’s – Max & Mina’s is an ice cream shop known for its wide array of seasonal flavors. At just a 15 minute walk from THHS, this ice cream eatery is perfect for those looking for a taste of Halloween “as long as you don’t mind eating ice cream in the fall,” said senior Ammini David.

IHOP – Although IHOP may not be famous for Halloween decorations or dishes, their fall-themed apple ring and pumpkin spice pancakes guarantee Harrisites the taste of a quintessential autumn breakfast. “IHOP has a really cool Halloween menu. They have Scary Face Pancakes for kids and Reese’s Pieces Pancakes for candy lovers,” said junior Niharika Ojha.

Tiny Pumpkin – Located about four miles from THHS on Northern Boulevard in Bayside, this Korean spot sells all kinds of desserts, including bingsu snow ice, ice cream, smoothies, teas, lattes, pastries, and even porridge, all available in pumpkin flavors. Senior Alexandra Yick said, “It’s a cute autumn-themed place that I really like.”

Starbucks – Starbucks is a well-known café chain year round, but the company steps up to fit the Halloween theme during the fall. Popular seasonal autumn drinks include the apple crisp macchiato and frappuccino, pumpkin spice latte, and pumpkin cream cold brew. Senior Lily Li said, “Drinking a pumpkin spice latte on a cold morning is the most fall thing I can think of.” Additionally, Starbucks offers a “Witch’s Brew Crème Frappuccino,” with colors of purple and green and an orange crème flavoring.
