The Se’mores took the cake—that is, the victory—at SING 2014. With both productions centered on villainous birthday parties, the Se’mores produced a show that had the Avengers and other Marvel characters, notably Spidergirl and Spiderman, on a chase to catch Thor’s Loki. The Freshior show revolved around the Joker from Batman plotting to bring ruin to the DC heroes at his party.

Boys Fencing finishes at QC

Despite a strong season, the boys fencing team did not make it too far into the playoffs, which were held at the Fitzgerald Gymnasium at Queens College on November 24. The rivalry between Harris and Cardozo extended towards PSAL playoffs.

However, this attempt is in vain: unknowingly, we often make choices that group us with people similar to ourselves. Alternately, some of us observe patterns in the way our peers and role models dress, and if we like their styles, we pick out our outfits accordingly. In the Townsend Harris community, trends denote patterns in the larger world of fashion.

When you hear the word “Thanksgiving,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind? For many, Thanksgiving is more about the family meals and juicy turkeys than Pilgrims, Plymouth Rock, or the parades and football games across the country. The holiday is one of stuffing, corn bread, pumpkin pie, and other delectable dishes—many of which can be very unhealthy. In the spirit of finding low-calorie, low-fat choices, Athletic Director and Physical Education teacher Keith Hanson tested out a number of healthy Thanksgiving alternatives meant to taste as close to the originals as possible. He shared his results.
